I need to wrap Little M in something. Anything really.

This kid......omg.

It's after 2am. Guess where I spent the last 6 hours??? In the ER.

Little M decided right as she left her classroom for the day, to pick a fight with a wall.

With her face!

HER FACE...

Its a miracle her glasses aren't in pieces although the lens are totally scratched up. (She needs new ones so not a big deal).

And of course as we get to the hospital a line of ambulances arrive as well, having responded to a multiple vehicle crash with life and death trauma cases. Of course she wouldn't get seen for hours.

The swelling in her nose had actually gone down by the time the doctor saw her but her right nostril had been almost totally shut and the right side all puffed up. The outside corner of her right eye is all red, swollen and really painful.
While waiting under her left eye began to hurt.

X rays show no fractures around the nose (she's got a hard head apparently lol). Doc said to still expect more brusing and to alternate Tylenol and advil and ice it. He also advised to get her eyes checked again.

So I'll be calling our optometrist Monday to get her in asap.

In the mean time do ya'all think a pool noodle made into a crown will work? Or just go all out and get her a snowmobile helmet with face Shield?

I'm going to try and get some rest now.

Maybe she’s trying to exert some control in lieu of all of the shenanigans and hurt and mayham your dick weed WH has caused. Sorry, But that’s the first thing that comes to mind.

My boys used to pull tricks like this, and the only thing that ever seemed to work, was when I would tell them some extreme consequences for making decisions - like if they intend to behave that way, I will have to put a big bandage on their head or I will have to put big thick gloves on their hands or whatever, to protect them. Once I almost told one of my boys that he just wouldn’t be able to go to school… But I caught myself in time when I realize that he might like that consequence!

Do you think she may have done it on a dare?

She is the type of kid to leap then look. I always have to remind her to look both ways and not run ahead in parking lots.

I'm actually concerned this is a sight issue. She didnt SEE the wall,at least not in time to stop slamming into it.

She was due for new glasses and she and dd had appointments that I had to cancel because wh cancelled the insurance on the van I have.

I'm back on the road now and he can't mess with that so I can reschedule the eye doc for both girls. The only problem is it will be about a month, if not longer.

I am going to see they can see her as an emergency patient becauze of the ER visit.

She's sore today and a bit more bruised. Not as bad as I thought so that's good at least.

My youngest was like your D. She'd had stitches three times by the time she was 9. Then she fell off the monkey bars at school and said that she couldn't move her legs. I raced to the school and followed the ambulance, H raced to the ER, driving 70mph down the grass median to get there as fast as he could. When he ran in, she was sitting up on the gurney and chirped a very chipper "HI DAD!" and did a little happy dance.

We told her that she had used up all of her alloted ER visits and that the next time she had to go to the ER, they were going to roll her out into the parking lot.

Oh my that was a major scare for sure. I'm glad your kid wad ok.

All the kids have been to the ER for one thing or another.

Last night my brother text me and when I told him where I was he said back in our day our mom would just say suck it up. Unless there was spurting blood or bone showing. My youngest brother did break his nose and nothing was done at the time. Years later he had to have surgery so he could breathe properly.

Little M is doing ok. She says it hurts when she blinks.

We are sitting enjoying a movie and Litlte M asks me to look at the back of her head.

I ask what happened and she says when she was on the trampoline earlier, she slipped and hit the frame.

I'm livid! Why the hell didn't she tell me then. Ugh!

Well Little M is at a friend's house for the night so I'm just praying she doesn't hurt herself. The mom text me and said the girls were having a blast. She needs more sleep overs.

The kids did the Terry Fox run today so I'm sure she's tired. She ran her heart out. I always sit out there and cheer the kids on. Big D decided he was going to plant his butt down in the driveway and rest for a bit lol. He's not a runner.

Well another trip to the ER after little M decided to have a dance off with the gym floor (knee vs floor)...again no fractures but she refuses to put any weight on her leg,it's purple and swollen and the pain is down into her foot. She also won't straighten her leg. Thankfully due to DS breaking his foot some time ago we had crutches in the house that adjust.

A few times she got over zealous and nearly face planted...each time I was able to catch her.

For now just ice, advil and rest is suggested.

Halloween idea: bubble wrap lol

Dragn, I have a nephew who sounds like little M. He made it to adulthood after many of us wondered if he every would. His parents had so many ER visits they were terrified child protective services were going to come after them. At 2 he was playing with a small toy car and it had one of those fake motors so the wheels would turn - and his tongue got stuck in the car 'motor.' Another time he got into his grandpa's fishing tackle box and got one of those red and white floaters fastened on his tongue. Sword fighting with curtain rods with his cousin, when he was 8 and fell on the curtain rod, ramming it into his throat. As an adult, he still has weird accidents. He can just be walking and if there is a hole, he's going to step in it and Twiest an ankle. When he was about 10 he was drinking sode out of a glass bottle and sucked on it wrong and both lips got stuck in the top of the bottle. His Mom said she could write a book abou him and his weird accidents.

Well I'm glad there's others out there who made it to adulthood lol

Little M says her knee is still very sore but she is walking now. Still more on her toes than flat.

Now dd is breaking out in hives. Like seriously. If it's not one kid it's another 😒 Time for her to see the doc since she's having dizzy spells at school too (had one today and fell banging her knee).

Perhaps being a klutz is genetic lol. I was working outside today putting up electric tape because I was kept up most of the night herding the horses to the back instead of them wandering the front of the house... somehow I've injured my thumb. But the tape is up and my solar energizer working nicely (ask me how I know lmao).

With my youngest, I was practically on a first name basis with poison control. He would eat a poinsettia leaf. One time he ate a tube of BenGay. And one of the only times I ever gave him medication, he found a way to drink half a bottle of baby Tylenol.

We would take him to the ER when necessary, and especially with the BenGay and Tylenol incidents, they would watch blood levels over a 24 hour period to make sure that they never got to a damaging level. Half the time I never even found out how he was able to get to these things. He was two years old, and the bottle of Tylenol was in the back corner behind the sink in a hotel restroom. Luckily, as it turns out, he had more of it on his face than what went in his body. The hospital said he was never in any danger.

Especially since parenting can be described as "being in a constant state of worry while trying to take care of little humans that constantly, yet unintentionally, try to unalive themselves".

Home from ER visit #3? this month.

Once again little M but this time not something she did. Big D shut the trunk on little M's thumb by accident.

You wouldn't know she has asthma from the way she can scream.

I'm surprised it isnt fractured. I got to take a copy of the x ray home. She did lose a huge chunk of skin which they couldn't stitch shut. Oh the entire hospital knew she was there when they cleaned it. I'll cover it up tomorrow before school since she has a full day of activities outside.

Now just trying to unwind lol.
