Ronda Rousey "My Fight/Your Fight"

*mini spoilers ahead*

Has anyone read this book? I recently started it, and it is surprisingly very good. I say surprisingly only because I am not that into UFC fighting, and usually this would be a book I would pass on. However, I really like Ronda as a person, and I'll watch UFC if she's fighting.

Her strength and determination are incredible. There are a lot of things I didn't know about her that were surprising. Like she didn't even speak until she was 3 years old because she was born with her umbilical cord wrapped around her throat and it damaged the part of the brain that manages speech. Her brain actually uses a different area than most for speech. Pretty interesting.

Also that her father committed suicide when she was 8 after sustaining a fatal back injury. How devastating.

She is a 6th degree black belt! Yikes! Wouldn't want to mess with her!

*End of mini spoilers*

Anyways...I think I like this book mostly because I like the way it makes me feel about myself. Ronda literally pushes you in this book to FIGHT on. PUSH past. You are stronger than anything you could possible face. Life throws some pretty shitty stuff at us sometimes (Hello...isn't that why we are all here on SI? LOL) But you have two choices. Fight on, or perish.

I choose to fight and push on.

I'm only about halfway through the book, and I really don't want to finish it. Haha. I wish there was more.

Some of you might disagree, but its a great book. Don't be afraid to try it out just because she's a UFC fighter.

On a side note - Did anyone see her fight last saturday? Woooo-weee! 34 seconds is all it took! Love this girl!
