I know, another Stephen King post . . .

But yeah. SPOILER ALERT. I'm on book 6, Song of Susannah. What in the world with King appearing as a character in his own book? I can't figure out if I love it or hate it. Please do to spoil anything in book 7 for me, just tell me if you liked it or were disappointed.

Loved the dark tower books. Read four while I was pregnant and off work many years ago.

To me it seemed okay since the worlds crossed and it is a Stephen King book. I was just so glad he didn't die before he finished the series.

I didn't like his writing for a while as he cussed too much and I dont like unnecessary cussing.

I was not happy when he put himself in the story.. for a minute.. then it kind of made sense. He's said over and over that the dark tower is always with him, always has been. it'll make more sense once you've finished the series.

it'll be okay. it doesn't ruin the series, I promise.

no spoilers, but you know there's an 8th book? wind through the keyhole. gives a good back story for the series you're welcome.

I actually read that one before I started the series! I'd had The Gunslinger and tried to read it but couldn't get into it. Picked up Wind for a dollar somewhere and liked it so decided to give the series another go. I was SO CONFUSED when Jake died, as he's in the Wind book. I'm about 300 pages into the last book now. That effing spider-baby.

Well. I finished it, finally.

Not sure how I feel about any of that. Roland. Gah. And Oy.

Lol, I always thought King appeared in his own books. The writers in his novels are a thinly disguised him.

I actually never read the Dark Tower books, but I hear they are his best. That being said my VERY favorite King book is Eye of the Dragon, which I heard the antagonist in that is the same as in the Dark Tower series. I also heard there is a connection with him and the clown in It.

I don't remember Randall Flagg being in It but it's been a while since I read it. The Turtle in It does appear in DT ( see the turtle of enormous girth! On his back he holds the earth!). Flagg appears in many of his books under different names. The Stand is my all-time favorite and he's the bad guy in that one. They mention the plague from The Stand in Dark Tower (can't remember which book).

That may be it,that the turtle appeared in that book. It is one of the few things that has truly scared me, so I try to revisit it every few years. King can be so hit and miss with me, though... Which honestly I think is to be expected for someone who has put out as many books as he has. Not all of his novels can be masterpieces, lol.

The kids from It make a cameo in 11/22/63 (which is an incredible book IMO!).
