I have a 102.8 fever with taking tylenol.

Anything else I can do?

Have you tried calf wraps? I found them really helpful in bringing down a fever. Hope you’ll feel better soon.

Alternate with ibuprofen/advil 400mg, and tylenol should be 1000mg, 2 500mg tabs/capsules.

If you are shivering/rigors then cover up with lots of blankets to get it to stop and it will break, and you will be a sweaty mess but will feel much better.

If not shivering/rigors then tepid shower, not hot, not ice cold, but cool. Cold compress to pits and groin can help. Cool cloth to head.

Not really seeing high temps w/ this round of Covid, so if it continues consider going to ED to make sure you don't have a secondary infection (Pneumonia).

Yes. My fever went down to 100 this afternoon. Thank you for asking.

I took two covid tests that were negative but I was taking care of a family member who tested positive and I have similar symptoms. I will take another test tonight.

We are seeing Influenza with it, and that definitely would account for the fever. As an adult a fever of >102 makes one wish for death.

Lol, yes that is exactly what I was thinking last night. I was awake all night with the fever, pounding headache, body aches and chills.

I had my flu shot two weeks ago.

Whatever this is it is no fun.

Took another covid test tonight and it was positive.

Everybody was saying that this variant was like having a bad cold. Definitely not for me or my sister.

Thank you Jeannie. I have been so careful and managed to avoid getting it until now. I'm living with my sister while my house is being renovated. She tested positive over the weekend so I'm sure I caught it from her.

It seems like every day I get a new symptom.

It took 3-4 tests before I tested positive so I wonder how many people get a couple of negative tests and don't realize they have it and are out spreading it around. I kept testing because I was pretty sure it was covid due to the close contact I had with my sister.

Then there are the people that don't care what they spread around.

Yes it often takes 3-5 days for the tests to be positive, and yes that is why the original round of Omicron was so bad, and nearly everyone got it, because you had it and its most contagious before you knew you had it.

I hope you are on the mend and feeling better, if you are still running fevers that high, go to Urgent Care and get a chest xray, and make sure you don't have a pneumonia.

I went one year without a flu shot, due to job changes, and timing, it just didn't get done, well guess what, I got it, and I think that's the sickest I have ever been I know it is as an adult, and I had a brand new job, so couldn't really call off. I ended up with a pneumonia, and was told I should be in the hospital, but luckily my Dr knew me and my situation so we dosed me up w/ the appropriate antibiotics, steroids, and inhaler. It took me about 2 months to feel like myself again.

Drink lots of fluids, humidify your air, take mucinex and if you get the cough robitussin honey seems to be the most effective thing other than Rx medications, and if Rx tessalon pearles are much more effective than narcotic cough syrups for this stoopid bug.
