Y’all know I’ve had a run of crappy circumstances, literally and figuratively. I was due.
My alma mater, my favorite team, my Daddy’s favorite team just beat our most bitter rival for the first time in 8 years. Handed the Clemson team its first home defeat in 6 years.
I am a happy Gamecock fan today.

Y’all just have to understand. My grandmother and my dad were both UofSC grads before me. Daddy took us to games when he was in school, and I returned the favor when I was there. I have so many memories—good, bad, ridiculous— all associated with watching football with Daddy. And this was the best Carolina-Clemson game I can remember in a long time.

My beloved but beleaguered Scarlet Knights got their asses handed to them by the Terrapins, where my mother and both brothers went. Not a good football weekend for me. At least the 49ers and Warriors had a better weekend.
