Yes pennies are gone. Sad actually. I loved looking for really old pennies. I remember 1 and 2 dollar bills. Before they were fazed out I was working in the art framing business and people were able to buy sheets of uncut money that we framed. I wish I had gotten my hands on one of those!

I think your paper money is a lot prettier than US paper money.

The store manager (24 hour store) immediately went out to check the pump when I called them and said NO ... NO card readers or skimmers. Duh, they had already removed them. The manager of this store gets very HOT under the collar about this and swears on her mother's grave they have NEVER had a fraud at their pumps.

They are little circuit boards made to plug into existing wires and plugs. I doubt he know there was in there by sight unless he was a pump technician as they blend in with the pumps cables. That is if he opened the pump to check. They use the pumps card readers and keypads on the older pumps. The ones that support chip cards and touchless, I hope at least, should be end to end encrypted from card reader to processing service. I tend towards google pay for most things where possible.

As a change hater, I struggle with the smallest bill being 5 and having to use 1 & 2 euro/pound coins.

It's been four days and the money still hasn't returned to my checking account. The bank told me this morning that an 'investigation' can take up to 10 days but also -- the fraud department CAN use up to 90 days!! WHY punish the innocent person when they KNOW already it's fraud!

My opinion is there is too much time spent on 'investigations' and not enough time on 'prosecutions.'

I'm sorry Jeaniegirl. That sucks that it's taking so long. Notice it takes seconds to remove money from one's account but getting it deposited is a royal pain and takes forever...

So I had ordered a rainbow batch of chicks before all this other shit went down. Half my order was available for pick up. They are adorable and sleeping in my room with me. Obviously in a cage lol. Their rainbows because they all lay different colored eggs. That is if I have all hens. The one that stands out is the polish. It's got a tuff on its head and is so cute.

The other half of my order is due for pick up this weekend. I'll have to move them all to the larger brooder. My kids saw them and Big D said now I have to get turkeys. Because he loves turkeys but we have to hide them. I asked why and he said one of the students in his class said his dad hunts turkeys and Big D doesn't want ours to get shot. I told him not to worry about that because we would keep them safe.

Most old pennies are cool to look at but aren't worth much. The ones that have value are usually uncirculated (mint or near mint condition) and/or are errors, like double die stamps.

I have a few 1943 steel pennies from WWII, when copper was more valuable for the war effort. They're cool from a historical perspective but common from a collector's perspective. If I had a bronze one, though, that would be worth a fortune, because they weren't meant to happen. I gather there was some kind of screwup at the mint when they transitioned between copper and steel.

I was at the post office a while ago and a lady was picking up a box of tiny chicks. I was amazed that they came through the mail at the US Post office. They were chirping away. So cute. I have land and wish I had YOUR energy to get more animals. But that would mean more fencing and work. Guess I'm not up for that right now. I really would like some of the smaller goats. Chickens I would worry too much about because of owls and hawks and coyotes.

I would normally order a batch through the farm supply store but since it changed ownership to a new store they haven't done chick days. I could still order from the farm Co ops but I saw the post for these chicks from a local woman and thought it'd be nice to get a variety.

I'm looking forward to multiple colored eggs.

I spent so much time and effort on the coop and covered run, might as well get some use from it this year.

I would love to get chickens too! We have RA zoning (residential/agricultural) so we are allowed to do it. I have to finish my veggie and flower garden though. I have 2 more side beds and one large back bed. This year I think we will get some apples from Tractor Supply and plant out about 4 of them for a small orchard. Then, maybe look into keeping about 6 hens. Covered run and let them have the run of the garden while Im in there supervising. They are so good at getting rid of pests.

Its a lot of work, so we are just nibbling at it bit by bit. Hubby is happy because he has a bed for his ghost and habaneros

I have my tomatoes, zinnia, sunflower, sweet pea, acorn squash and poblanos going too. And more in my perennial and herb bed. I collect plants. Somedays theyre easier to deal with than people!

I completely let the garden slip this year. I know it's not to late but dammit I had such great plans and with everything that happened I just lost any and all motivation to do it.

It's still a struggle just to get our if bed. Got new antidepressants to start. Hopefully that will help break this.

I did get another load of clean fill this time it came with massive railway ties. Oh man I saw them and my heart skipped a beat!

I could use them to edge side gardens around the house or as supports along with all the cement blocks to extend the driveway out to make a roundabout.

Then I think what's the point with all that's happening. Ugh! Dreams gone poof!

I'm thinking Mother Nature is just trolling us now.

I have very rich and healthy soil. I could grow anything here. I had a garden only one time and loved it -- but so did my Deer herd that lives at the back of my property. I have three tomato plants growing in my flower bed and they are going to provide me with tomatoes this season.

I just read that chickens keep down the tick population. I can tell already we are going to have problems with ticks this year. I really, really hate ticks!

What is it about the little chicks that makes them have a different colored eggs? Are all the chicks the same color once they hatch?

Egg shell color is based on the breed of chicken.

Back in the 60's, they used to inject dye into the eggs, and the chicks would come out magenta, chartreuse, blue, red. They were really cute, and I got some for one of my birthdays. They don't do this any longer.

The one chicken I had the longest was Henrietta. I don't remember the names of the other 3.

I wish. State wide non-plated (subdivision) lots of an acre or larger or not able to be have agricultural restrictions. I qualify for the non-plated but we only have just over a half acre. We're in a township on the edge of town with some farm land left. Everything is zoned residential with the agricultural use grandfathered in. House down the street from us has an acre+ and generally raises 3 to 5 cows every year. The township has a blanket restriction on chickens and other livestock animals. We're likely moving next year once the kid graduates HS

The closest city/small town had a ban on chickens until enough residents got together to petition the township. Now they are allowed but no roosters.

Funny enough many people had them and as long as no one complained it wasn't an issue.

I'm on just under 100 acres in a protected area. Cannot develope here. It's mostly used as pasture for cattle. The protection is for a bird.

There's sheep farms here too.

I just want to have my own eggs again. And I think the variety is cool.

Here's hoping I have all hens.

What's the 100 acres like? Trees and grasses?
