I am so glad you got checked out and are getting the care you need to fix this. I do think if they thought it was urgent they would get you in sooner or send you to the ER. So that is good news.
Lots of deep breathing (now that you can do that :-) ) and some good meditation apps to help calm the crazy monkey brain.

Oh, my... I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this, even if they both end up being easily treatable. I don't know anyone whose mind wouldn't wander to that dark place when faced with health issues that could just as easily be serious as also something to just monitor. It's the initial shock of sensing something is going on in our body, and realizing things just aren't the same today as they were the day when the news was delivered.
Glad you've got a good support system with your daughter nearby!

Oh Jeanie, sorry I'm late to this thread, and sorry you're dealing with more medical issues.
Just wanted to tell you that my mother had an AAA and had the corrective surgery when she was 83 
and came through it fine. Her's was a more invasive procedure due to the size of the AAA and location. Still, at 83 she did great! You're young and healthy, and hope you can get the less invasive procedure and come through like a champ!

Tomorrow afternoon I go to the cardiologist and will find out what is going to happen. The news is not great as I have an aorta aneurysm and it is quite large. I know there are procedures for fixing this and I SO hope they can go in through the groin to put a stent in. I am not sure my body could recover from another large incision, which is sometimes done to place the stent. I am just now starting to feel good, eating and gaining weight - from the lung lobe removal surgery. The aneurysm is 3.6 cm big so I don't think there is much of a chance the cardiologist will opt to 'watch it' -- but he might. Wish me luck!

Jeanie good luck on your Eval, from what I remember back in my CVICU days, I am fairly certain that is not big enough for a stent. I think it may be a monitor situation.
If you do need a stent, it is generally done as an outpatient procedure, and will probably keep you overnight to make sure your kidneys don't take a hit from the dye used to place it.
Keep on working on your nutrition, and if they say you need this make sure that you start on some Juven prior to the procedure and the week after to help w/ healing.

Cardio doc said he's well aware of it and plans to monitor it for now. If it gets larger, he'd re-evaluate.

Thank you all very much! I weighed in at 108lbs at the doctor yesterday so I'm gaining some weight back. Now to work on the muscles!

It is good news I think but it's still worrisome just knowing I have an aneurysm bothers me. I have bever had heart issues previously but my Dad passed at 59 from heart issues.

So glad to hear the good news! And now I'm picturing you all nice and relaxed, sipping on a fattening but healthy smoothie while you let the Spring breeze blow in your hair and face. If I was there, I'd buy you a special Life is Good shirt to wear.
