How is everyone holding up in Canada from the fires? We are in the Midwest and suffering because the air just sucks because of it. I cannot imagine what everybody up north is going through.

We’re about 1-1/2 hours north of Toronto on the shores of Georgian Bay and we’re okay here, but have heard they are pretty bad a few hours north of us. Also, we expect to be impacted in another day or two.
Worst fire season we’ve ever had. It’s been raining over the course of the last day or 2 so hoping that’s helps out a lot.

So what is a good way to track the smoke from the wildfires? We will be leaving in two weeks to drive cross country from SoCal to the Boston area. We are planning on heading north to Salt Lake City, then drive through Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. I'm just hoping smoke doesn't impair our views. Since we'll have our dog with us, we can't really get out and get on any trails, but we plan to take advantage of all scenic overlooks, pull-off areas, vista points! I really hope the smoke isn't too bad up that way!

It was a little hazy here yesterday but today you can actually smell the smoke. So very little outside time today between that and record heat.

We are heading east for the weekend keeping fingers crossed it isn't as bad but I do think it will be.

ETA - was outside w/ my dogs for the past 20 min and my eyes are watering, and clothes smell like a campfire. Local news says will clear this afternoon, but then it will be nearly 100 degrees for the next few days.

We have dangerous air quality in Chicago today (and yesterday). I've asked for whitelisting a government website on air quality - but there are probably many websites that offer AQ info....

Today sucked again, but we did have storms overnight so this morning seemed a little better until it dried out. Eastern Iowa here…

So far today it seems clear but yesterday was awful.

We could look directly at the sun. The haze was thick.

We still have air quality statements out.

You know it's bad when you can use your fog lights in the day.

A warm front blew through yesterday so the air is clear here but its going to nearly 100 degrees.

I hope all you folks in the northeast can stay indoors. Yippee a new use for all those covid masks.

It's not that hazy yet, but the smell of smoke is strong this morning.

Air quality here in the northeast was bad yesterday and it's worse today. It hasn't gotten as bad as it did a month ago but still best to stay indoors.

DD works outside and had to leave early due to a migraine. She hasn't left work early or called off in three years so she must have been really ill. I'm guessing the smoke caused it or contributed to it.

Monday's darkness was a storm front rolling through. It's supposed to get worse today.

I am in Northeastern Ontario, about 15 minutes from the Quebec border. It was really bad a few days ago and this morning, pretty good. The bonfire smell is gone and I can see to the end of the street! Expecting thunderstorms on the weekend, which could clear away some of the smoke but also start new fires. We will see...

Rain hit here tonight. Hopefully that rinsed some of the soot out of the air.
