Only where I live to people sit by police scanners to hear about the latest crimes, wrecks and disturbances -- then get in their cars and go LOOK.

Only where I live do people long for a good snow storm and even ice when the temps get up to 110. laugh

Omg we do that up here too. As someone who has lived without heat in the winter and has gotten used to being cold All The Time, anything over 75°C is to hot! Not that I really want snow and all the shoveling but it's why autumn is my favorite season. Cool and the bugs are dying off.

Only where I live do I feel safe from most natural disasters. There are no hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, landslides, floods, or sinkholes and very, very few tornadoes. We occasionally have extreme heat (don't have it right now) and extreme cold, but those don't steal our homes. So while there are other drawbacks to living here, we don't fear having to evacuate for any reason and always feel our homes are safe from Mother Nature. For now anyway...

We aren't allowed to take roadkill here. I saw a deer that had been hit, ended up being eaten by coyotes.

Only some adults say yes ma'am and yes sir.

OIN I used to be in an area like that but over the past few years we have experienced more tornados in the area. It used to be a rare thing but now we see reports of funnel clouds quite often.

Only where I live do we write off people who put ketchup on hot dogs. I keep hoping my GS never violates that rule, at least when he's here.

Only where I used to live is it apparently illegal to shift over one lane at a time. It's apparently mandatory in Southern New England to shift 2 or more lanes at at a time.

Comes from our pork packing history. We were a major pork packing hubin the early 1800s to the point one of our labels was Porkopolis due to the herds of pigs being driven through the streets. Chicago, with better rail access took over that in the late 1860s. The ready availabilty of pork fat also lead to us being a soap production center hence we are the home to Procter and Gamble. I think the flying part came when an artist added flying pigs to smokestacks on an installation for the bicentennial commons in the 1980s. The smokestacks were an homage to the steamboat terminal that drove the early growth of the city. Pigs for the Porkopolis label. The flying part on spin on the when pigs fly phrase to allude it's were the impossible happens.

Only where I live do people think it's a good idea to buy an unpackaged soft pretzel from a random dude standing on the median strip of a highway. Though come to think of it, I haven't seen that since the pandemic.

Oh, yes!

Ketchup on scrambled eggs!!! 👍🏼

Also, I don’t know if it’s only where I’m from, but "tube steak", where I live, means something entirely different than "hot dogs". If you catch my drift.

In Ontario, you can take home most roadkill but you do have to register certain species on-line with the Ministry of Natural Resources.
