Thank you so much everyone for your continued thoughts and prayers. I’m sure many of you have noticed Deeply Scared’s absence from the site.

A week ago today I took DS to a follow up lab visit as part of the trial protocols. Once we were home for a short while, the APN called and instructed us to get to the emergency room. Her labs indicated critical sodium levels. I immediately took her to the ER. She had a-fib and her bp had dropped to considerably low levels. They concluded she had an infection.

They transferred her out of ICU into a regular room on Monday afternoon. She had some struggles since then. But today was a good day. She had been confined to a bed for the last 7 days. Today she had physical therapy and was able to walk 10 feet. I was also able to get her to eat some protein which she has been lacking.

We are hoping she will be in good enough shape to get out of the hospital in time to come help coordinate the elves’ party on Saturday. The elves have been volunteering to work overtime to do more than build toys, drink milk and eat cookies (...or tequila and pizza for that matter) and take care of the Christmas card exchange. And for that DS and I will be eternally grateful.

We are also very grateful for your continued support, thoughts and prayers during our continued day by day adventure AK47ing this shit!

DS colored a picture to help build encouragement...

Here I am....HOME!!!!! I was in the hospital 17 days....thats a long time to be away from home.

Many things happened at the hospital in those 17 days,...mostly a lot of pills, Interruption with blood work, labs, CT scans, and many portions are blank because of being doped.

I was moved to the recovery floor 10 days ago and every day was "maybe tomorrow you'll be released. .." by Friday they said I was getting discharged. I explained the I wasn't ready...that the PT did not go well, my legs are too swollen to cutely walk the last days.

MH and I were so scared because he had gotten all my medical supplies, couch set up, etc. However my walking condition had gone down hill so the major delima was still getting me home with as little pain as possible and a hospital bed set up...I can't very well live on the couch

So MH spent all day Friday and Saturday setting up the guest room, wheelchairs portable toilet delivered. on top of arranging proper wheelchair transportation. He worked until 5:00am Sturdy morning...slept a coulee hours and hen recruited our neighbor to help.

AND....when his sister came down 2 weeks ago....they put all our Fall decorations up and completely decorated the house with Christmas...right down to Christmas music playing when I wheeled though the front door.

The energy and love that went into making a perfect homecoming, well, I'm absolutely filled with joy!!

So, now we have to really buckle down on eating more protein to continue for my 3rd round of the TD....hopefully by next week!!!

Overall....I'm so lucky and surrounded by love....which includes every single one of you.

Thank you so much for everything!!! Please keep praying...I need and welcome them all.

Thank you all for your support through this journey. DS is my best friend and will always have a place in my heart. She put up a fight like I've never witnessed before.

Her favorite day of the year is Christmas. She made it. We celebrated together and made every effort to make it the best Christmas ever.

My dearest DS passed away at 2:07am Christmas morning. She loved you all very much and held tightly your words of encouragement and strength.

She fought hard. She was my hero. And I will always carry and cherish our memories together. We renewed our vows on December 21st and she was so excited.

By the afternoon of the 24th she was no longer responsive. But she was aware that we were there for her all the way to the end. She was not alone and she wasn't afraid or in pain.

Rest in Peace Deeply Scared

Thank you so much everybody for your thoughts and prayers. It has been a really tough time. But I will make it through this. I've lost two more relatives to cancer in the last week. They may have been waiting for DS to lead the way.

I've been on the road since family left and I have been traveling and getting my head together since. I know your not supposed to say things like that on the internet. But remember my house is in Texas and I have established the castle doctrine with all of my neighbors and they are even better armed than me.

While on the road I also destroyed my Camaro. I blew out the transmission and A/C. I was lucky enough to be in a town that I have friends. But not lucky enough to bring my ride back to life without putting more money into it than it is worth. So if there are any aspiring hobbyists who want to work on a Camaro, it is a 95 with under 100k miles and pretty good shape other than the damage I've done on my tour.

I hope you don't mind, but SI will remain decorated for Christmas season until I return to my office. Think of it as extending DS' final day with us for a little while longer.

Thank you again for your continued thoughts and prayers.

The memorial service was last night. It rocked. She is happy with it. I am happy with it. Best party I ever attended. Rock on baby. *mike drop*
